Dear Dreamy Friends,

How quickly this holiday season came upon us! What visions are dancing in your head?

This can be a very emotional time of year for many of us. We have expectations of the Holiday Season that often cannot be met. We remember the joy of anticipation and then the joy of surprise and the warmth of being surrounded by loving family and friends. Sometimes the season does not offer that for us as adults.

dream workWhy? Perhaps we are more into the angst of making it all happen and trying to live up to the expectations that others put on us, or more likely that we put on ourselves. After all, we hope to make the good memories for our families. It’s meant to be a joyful time, right?!

Even when your intentions are to lower your expectations (or better yet to change them) and simplify, it is often still “too much.” We imagine being surrounded by loved ones, but perhaps you have lost family members in the past year or you’ve been dealing with health issues for your family and yourself. You may have visions of that special someone being in your life this year, but they haven’t arrived yet! It’s disappointing to face this season alone. It’s not what it’s supposed to look like.

Amazingly, the answer and solutions to whatever ails you this holiday season is most probably in your nighttime dreams. Dreams teach us so much about our emotions – those that we are aware of and those that we stuff down so we can go on with getting the presents bought and wrapped. The amazing thing about emotions is that they only gain energy when suppressed. The more we understand and deal with what we are feeling, the happier we will be. “Fear”, “Sadness”, and “Anger” turn to “Glad” when dealt with in an open, kind, and honest way.

It’s all in your dreams! You are dreaming of more than a “White Christmas.” Wouldn’t you like to understand the wisdom that is offered to you every night? (Yes, you are having 5-6 dreams a night.)

You were gifted with this incredible present even before birth. Why not unwrap it this holiday season and start making your daytime dreams come true. Even Mary and Joseph followed their dream to the manger and changed the world!

Wishing you a Holiday Season filled with Dreams Come True – watch carefully, it may be different from the holiday expectations that you have. You might need to broaden your view and honor your emotions. Dreams are great at helping us do just that!

Following my dreams… always!

Justina
